Prayer

by on May 15, 2013

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions , and giving of thanks, be made for all men.

(1Timothy 2:1)

The scripture verse above admonishes us to pray , intercede and give thanks for all men all the time. God is a gentleman, he won’t interfere unless he is invited. When we pray for people, according to His will, God releases his angels and they go to work immediately and carry the commands of our prayers. Notice the verse says supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks, be made for all men, NOT just Christians or the righteous , but all men.

As Christians we have the burden of intercession, to pray for all men unbelievers and believers alike so God open doors for them to make them fulfill their purpose in life. You may have friends or even friends of friends who are under the influence of drugs, alcohol or sickness, you have total and complete authority from God to pray for them and God will make a change in their lives.

Remember, the scripture says in James 5:16-18 that there is great power made available by the prayer of the righteous man. Elijah was a man with emotions and weaknesses just like us, but yet he prayed that there be no rain for more than three and a half years, and when he prayed again it rained. (1 Kings 17-18)

God has given us authority to bind and to loose, for what ever we bind on earth, is bound in heaven and what ever we loose on earth is loosed in heaven (Matthew 18:18). Furthermore, God has given us authority to trample on serpants and scorpions and upon powers and principalities and all the work of the devil (Luke 10:19) . Mark 11:23 says if you ask for anything and believe you will have it, you shall have it, verse 24 continues that if we pray and we believe that God has answered our prayers, he will surely answer them. Ephesians 2:6 says we are seated in heavenly places with Christ at the Right hand of God. Just take a second and think about how much power we have to change the lives of others with our prayers. There is a lot about prayer that i would love to write about, but I will save that for a subsequent topic.

Most importantly, we can pray and intercede for people especially unbelievers that God should open their eyes and minds to the glorious gospel of Christ which leads to salvation. 2 Corinthians 4:4 says that Satan, the god of this age, has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Friends take some time out today and intercede for somebody, you can change the world with your prayers. Whenever you bless somebody, you bless yourself also likewise when you pray for people, you pray for yourself also. Nothing gives me greater joy than to see the results when I pray for people, its joy unspeakable

We should also pray and bless those who hate us and persecute us and do good to them whenever we can,

God bless you.
